Ain Shams University champions continued their outstanding performance in the swimming competitions at the 12th African University Games, “Cairo 2026,” securing a total of 14 medals: eight gold, four silver, and two bronzes. The impressive results reflect the excellence of the University’s male and female students and their ability to compete and achieve top positions at the African level.

Ain Shams University athletes delivered remarkable performances in the swimming events, with student Nour Ahmed Ramadan claiming first place and the gold medal in both the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke events.

Student Ziad Tarek Essam also secured first place and the gold medal in the 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke events, in addition to claiming third place and the bronze medal in the 50m freestyle event.

Student Omar Adel Mahmoud won second place and the silver medal in both the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke events.

In the women’s competitions, student Sama Ayman Nabil claimed first place and the gold medal in the 50m butterfly event, in addition to securing second place and the silver medal in the 50m freestyle event.

Student Jana Mohamed El-Darawy continued her outstanding performance, claiming first place and the gold medal in both the 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley events. She also added a silver medal after finishing second in the 100m butterfly event.

With these results, Ain Shams University’s swimming medal tally rose to 14 medals: eight gold, four silver, and two bronzes, marking an achievement that underscores the University’s strong presence in the sporting competitions at the African University Games.

This achievement comes as part of Ain Shams University’s participation in the 12th African University Games, “Cairo 2026,” represented by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, General Administration of Youth Welfare, Sports Activities Department, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

The University’s participation is coordinated and administratively supervised by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
