Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, attended the graduation ceremony of the second cohort of the PharmD Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty’s 26th graduating class. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Rehab Othman, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Rola Milad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Abdel Nasser Singab; faculty members and teaching assistants; as well as the graduates’ families, amid an atmosphere of pride in the graduates’ achievements and the faculty’s distinguished academic and scientific journey.

The ceremony opened with a graduates’ parade, followed by the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt and a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, marking the beginning of the celebrations honoring a new graduating class from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University.

The graduates then took the professional oath, administered by Prof. Abdel Nasser Badawy Singab, in a moving moment that marked their transition to a new stage in their professional lives and the beginning of their journey in serving the profession, patients, and society. The oath underscored the responsibility and trust entrusted to them and reaffirmed their commitment to professional ethics and values.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, expressed his pleasure at participating in the celebration of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s 26th graduating class and the second cohort of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program. He emphasized that this cohort represents an important milestone in the program’s journey, reflecting its commitment to providing scientific and professional preparation and practical training aligned with labor market requirements and enhancing graduates’ ability to contribute effectively to the healthcare system.

The University President expressed Ain Shams University’s pride in the academic and scientific achievements of the Faculty of Pharmacy and its attainment of both national and international accreditation. He noted that the Faculty’s graduates carry forward a longstanding legacy of excellence established over the years. He called on the graduates to uphold the name and values of their university and serve as ambassadors for Ain Shams University in their workplaces, stressing that graduation is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a new journey of work, dedication, and service to patients and society.

In her remarks, Prof. Rehab Othman, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, expressed her great joy at celebrating the graduation of a new class of students. She emphasized that graduation day represents the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and continuous hard work, made possible through the combined efforts of students, faculty members, teaching assistants, and their families. She also praised the role of the PharmD Program in advancing pharmaceutical education and preparing graduates capable of keeping pace with scientific and professional developments and meeting labor market needs.

The ceremony also featured speeches by the graduates, including remarks delivered by Hind Mostafa on behalf of the graduating class, as well as a speech by Yasmine El-Sayed Abdel Badie, who ranked third in her class. They expressed their pride and gratitude to the faculty and its professors and reflected on the years they spent at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The event featured documentary videos highlighting the faculty’s department chairs, along with a video showcasing students’ memories throughout their years of study and the experiences and moments that shaped their academic and personal journeys.

On the sidelines of the graduation ceremony, the Faculty of Pharmacy celebrated the Silver Jubilee of its second graduating class, the Class of 2001, in conjunction with this year’s graduation celebration. The occasion brought together two generations of Faculty graduates and highlighted the strong bonds connecting alumni with their faculty and professors throughout the years.

The celebration comes 26 years after the Faculty of Pharmacy graduated its first class in 2000, while this year marks 25 years since the graduation of its second class in 2001. Several Silver Jubilee alumni joined the new graduates in celebrating the occasion, reflecting their deep connection to the faculty, pride in their alma mater and professors, and commitment to maintaining ties with new generations of graduates.

The ceremony included the honoring of Silver Jubilee alumni, faculty members, top-ranking students, and all graduates. The celebration brought together cherished memories of the past and aspirations for the future, reflecting the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University’s commitment to recognizing the efforts and achievements of its graduates throughout their academic journey. It also underscored that the faculty’s mission extends beyond graduating successive classes to fostering generations united by a strong sense of belonging, pride in the faculty’s history and mission, and a shared commitment to continuing a legacy of knowledge, dedication, and excellence.
