In a new developmental step to enhance the system of medical and rehabilitation services directed to children with disabilities, the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies at Ain Shams University witnessed the opening of the “Motor Balance” and “Auditory Integration” units at the Disabled Care Center at the Faculty, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Howaida El Gabaly, Dean of the Faculty, and in the presence of Prof. Ahmed El Kahky, Director of the Center, while the presentation of the celebration segments was carried out by Dr. Nader and Dr. Sherine, lecturers in the Department of Media at the Faculty.

Prof. Howaida El-Gebaly emphasized in her speech that the opening of the two units comes as a belief in the importance of investing in human capital and providing the highest levels of care for children to support their comprehensive development and facilitate their effective integration into society. She praised the spirit of teamwork and sincere efforts that resulted in the completion of this important service and treatment project, amidst the prominent participation of an elite group of scientific and community figures, most notably Prof. Gamal Sami Ali, Professor of Pediatrics, former Vice President of Ain Shams University, former President of 6th of October University and former Governor of Fayoum, who made a generous donation of 4 million pounds to support the faculty and the center, and Prof. Mahmoud Kamel El-Naqa, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and member of the Arabic Language Academy and the Egyptian Scientific Academy, who provided great support by fully funding and implementing the establishment of the motor balance room belonging to the sensory-motor integration unit, in addition to his contribution to the establishment of the auditory integration unit.

The event witnessed a large attendance of professors of medicine, psychology and media, led by Prof. Hayam Nazif, Professor of Pediatrics and former Dean of the Fcaulty, Prof. Manal Omar, Professor in the Department of Pediatric Medical Studies and Head of the Psychiatry Unit at the Disabled Care Center, Prof. Galila Mokhtar, Professor of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Nirvana Hafez, Professor of Speech Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Gihan El Nahas, Professor of Adolescent Psychiatry and President of the World Association for Women's Mental Health, Prof. Rasha Hussein, Professor of Pediatric Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Alaa Abu Sitta, Professor and Head of the Audiology Department at Suez Canal University, Prof. Michel Sobhi, Professor of Psychological Studies, Prof. Asmaa El-Sersy, Professor of Psychology, and Prof. Maysa Farid, Professor of Pediatrics.

Prof. Dina Nasr, Prof. Walaa Ragab, Prof. Huda Al-Muhammadi, and Dr. Huda Jamal. From the Department of Media, Prof. Amr Nahla, Professor of Media and Director of the Quality Unit, Prof. Narmin Singer, Dr. Mo'men, and Dr. Marwa Abdel Latif participated, along with representatives of civil society and the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, Mrs. Hala Saleh, Mrs. Rania Al-Fouli, and Mrs.Yasmine Matar, as well as Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nashouqati, Professor of Electrical Acoustics and Head of the Scientific Center "Inushmenk", also participated in the celebration from the Department of Psychological Studies.

The opening program included a short introductory film about the activities and services provided by the center, directed by Ahmed Abdel Aleem, followed by a tender song dedicated to the children of the center, with lyrics by the great poet Ayman Bahgat Qamar and music by the distinguished artist Amr Mostafa. The event concluded with a special gesture of appreciation to Engineer Ahmed Rashad, as he is the main supporter and founder of the center since 2005 until now, as he established, equipped and developed it completely, up to the establishment of the nursery graduates unit in 2025 and his continuous support for the specialists, so that the newly established units can immediately begin their work in providing the latest rehabilitation programs and advanced therapeutic techniques to develop the motor and auditory skills of children and improve their quality of life under the supervision of a group of senior professors and specialists.

The celebration also included moments of gratitude and appreciation, as Prof. Howaida El-Gebaly, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Childhood Studies, honored all those who support the Disabled Care Center from outside the faculty, in addition to honoring faculty staff and employees at the faculty, by presenting them with plaques and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contributions to supporting the progress of the faculty and the center.

For their part, the faculty staff were keen to honor Prof. Howaida El-Gebaly in recognition of the significant achievements realized during her deanship. They delivered speeches expressing their sincere gratitude, appreciation, and pride in her leadership, praising the remarkable development the faculty has witnessed on various levels.

The speakers pointed to the most prominent achievements that were made during that period, most notably the faculty obtaining accreditation and quality, restoring the license to practice the profession of specialist and consultant for graduates of the medical department from the Doctors Syndicate, creating a number of specialized units in the Disabled Care Center, in addition to supporting the scientific journal of the faculty and maintaining its academic status, encouraging the international publication of scientific research, as well as supporting a large number of specialists of the center to obtain a doctorate degree, which reflects an integrated vision to improve the academic, research and service performance of the faculty.

The faculty staff' remarks reflected the spirit of cooperation and solidarity that unites the faculty community, and their deep appreciation and respect for Prof. Howaida El-Gebaly. They emphasized that the faculty's achievements were the fruit of teamwork and insightful management, which contributed to enhancing its standing and leadership.
