The King Sejong Institute in Cairo, the Faculty of Al-Alsun, is organizing the "Korean Culture and Applied Arts Academy 2026"

As part of Ain Shams University's efforts to enhance international academic and cultural cooperation and develop its students' skills through specialized training programs, the King Sejong Institute in Cairo, affiliated with the Faculty of Languages ​​at Ain Shams University, is organizing the "Korean Culture and Applied Arts Academy 2026." This initiative is under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Yumna Safwat, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun, and under the supervision of Mr. Oh Seung-ho, Director of the King Sejong Institute in Cairo. The academy reflects the university's commitment to strengthening academic and cultural cooperation with international educational institutions and fostering cultural exchange between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of South Korea.

The academy aims to introduce participants to the key features of modern Korean cultural industries and explore concepts of visual identity in contemporary Korean society. This will contribute to developing their academic and practical knowledge and experience through a series of specialized workshops that combine theoretical and practical aspects.

The academy's activities are scheduled to take place from July 19 to 21, 2026, at the King Sejong Institute in Cairo, the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University. The workshops will be led by Professor Choi Ji-woo, a professor at Yonsung University in Korea, specializing in culture and applied arts.

The workshops will be held daily in two sessions: a morning session from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and an afternoon session from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The maximum number of participants is 20 students per session, and each student must register for only one session, meaning each student is limited to attending only one session throughout the academy.

The institute indicated that registration may close earlier than scheduled if the maximum number of participants is reached, emphasizing that participation in the academy and all educational and cultural materials offered are completely free.

The institute stressed the importance of accepted students attending classes after the admission results are announced, given the limited number of places and the cost of the educational materials. Accepted students will be notified via the email address they provided during the application process.
