Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Ain Shams University officially launched the STEP Up – Complementary Tracks and Micro-Credentials initiative this morning. The pioneering initiative reflects the University's strategic vision to modernize higher education and strengthen its alignment with the evolving needs of the labor market at the local, regional, and international levels.

The initiative stems from the University's commitment to investing in human capital and supporting Egypt's national efforts to prepare graduates with future-ready skills. It is aligned with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt Vision 2030, both of which emphasize the integration of education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

STEP Up represents a modern educational model designed to bridge the gap between academic education and labor market demands by offering complementary learning tracks and micro-credentials that equip learners with specialized, practical skills in high-demand fields based on international best practices.

The initiative offers a diverse portfolio of future-oriented learning tracks, including:

 • Smart Technologies (SmartTech)

• Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics

• Cybersecurity

• Financial Technology (FinTech)

• Entrepreneurship and Innovation

• Sustainability and the Green Economy

• Digital Media and Content Creation

 •Digital Marketing

 • Project Management

Additional tracks will be introduced and updated continuously in response to emerging labor market needs.

STEP Up is built on the Competency-Based Learning model, which emphasizes practical skills, hands-on training, and flexible learning pathways. Participants earn Micro-Credentials that can be accumulated to build comprehensive professional learning pathways, enhancing employability, career advancement, and lifelong learning opportunities.

The initiative is open to Ain Shams University students, students from other universities, graduates, and professionals from various sectors seeking upskill or reskill, reinforcing the University's role as a regional hub for continuing education and capacity building.

The launch event features a comprehensive presentation of the initiative's vision, study model, partnerships with industrial and technology sectors, and the career opportunities associated with its various learning tracks, highlighting the University's commitment to delivering flexible education that keeps pace with rapid global transformation.
