The Students Disability Services Center participated in the “Step 2026” Employment Forum and received recognition for its efforts in supporting and empowering students with disabilities

The Education and Student Sector at Ain Shams University, represented by the Students Disability Services Center, participated in the activities of the sixth edition of the “Step 2026” Forum for Inclusive Employment, which was organized by the Helm Foundation, under the patronage of Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Gawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, with broad participation from governmental and private bodies and institutions concerned with empowering people with disabilities.

The university's participation came under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision and coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Education and Student Affairs.

The “Step 2026” forum is one of the most prominent national platforms specializing in inclusive employment for people with disabilities. It aims to enhance economic inclusion opportunities and empower people with disabilities to access job opportunities that match their abilities and skills.

The forum saw the participation of more than 40 multinational companies and leading Egyptian institutions, along with a large number of people with disabilities from across the country.

The center's participation included several students with disabilities, who had the opportunity to interact directly with representatives of the participating companies and institutions, learn about available career and training opportunities, and understand labor market requirements and the skills needed for various jobs. This contributes to enhancing their readiness to enter the workforce and achieve economic independence.

The students were accompanied during the visit by a number of student supporters from the center, as part of efforts to facilitate their participation and provide them with the necessary support.

In a gesture of appreciation reflecting the center's active role in supporting and empowering students with disabilities, the forum honored Dr. Samar Ragab, Director of the Students Disability Services Center at Ain Shams University, in recognition of the university's outstanding efforts through the center in supporting and empowering students. This recognition, presented as part of the forum's activities, reflects the participating organizations' appreciation for the university's leading role in the fields of inclusion and vocational rehabilitation.

This participation underscores Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting the economic and professional empowerment of students with disabilities and promoting their active participation in society and the labor market. This is achieved through rehabilitation and training programs and by building effective partnerships with civil society organizations and the private sector, thereby reinforcing the principles of equal opportunities and inclusive education.
