Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, was selected as the rapporteur for the Integrated Convoys Committee

Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital with several university vice-presidents for community service and environmental development, as well as directors of university hospitals, via video conference.

The meeting addressed mechanisms for increasing the number of integrated convoys sent to various parts of the country, in addition to increasing the number of convoys dispatched to African countries.

Dr. Qansouh emphasized the crucial role of universities in launching comprehensive, integrated convoys that include medical, veterinary, and agricultural services. He commended the universities' efforts in launching these convoys as part of their role in serving the community and promoting environmental development.

The Minister emphasized the importance of integration and cooperation among various public, private, and national universities, as well as branches of foreign universities, in launching convoys throughout the country.

Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh highlighted the importance of launching convoys outside Egypt, as part of supporting Egypt's leading role in the region and the African continent. He noted that Egypt pays close attention to the Nile Basin countries and aims to launch comprehensive convoys to serve the people of the continent, stressing the importance of coordination with all relevant authorities in this regard.

The minister stressed the importance of the university continuing to perform its national and community mission by supporting presidential initiatives and actively participating in development efforts aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, especially in the most needy areas, noting that the convoys represent a model of integration between the university’s various medical sectors, and contribute to providing specialized and free health services that alleviate the burdens on citizens and support the state’s efforts in promoting health care.

The meeting concluded with the formation of the Integrated Convoys Committee, and the selection of Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, as the committee's rapporteur.
