As part of strengthening the spirit of national unity and exchanging greetings on religious occasions, His Grace Anba Ermia, General Bishop and President of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, paid a congratulatory visit to Ain Shams University on Eid Al-Adha.

At the university campus, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, received His Grace Anba Ermia and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Professor Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Professor Ramy Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, in an atmosphere marked by sincere affection and brotherhood among the people of one nation.

The visit came as a genuine expression of the values of tolerance, citizenship, and national solidarity among Egyptians, and as an affirmation of the deep relationship between the Coptic Orthodox Church and Egypt’s national and academic institutions.

During the visit, His Grace Anba Ermia expressed his great joy at the occasion, stating that exchanging holiday greetings among fellow citizens is a humanitarian and national duty before being a social tradition. He emphasized that Egypt, with its goodness and rich history, teaches the world how Muslims and Christians can live together in genuine love and sincere solidarity under one sky and on one land.

His Grace added that Ain Shams University represents a distinguished national academic institution, and that visiting it on this blessed occasion conveys a clear message that national unity is not merely a slogan, but rather a daily practice embodied in such meaningful encounters.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the gracious visit, praising the noble humanitarian and national meanings it carries. He affirmed that such meetings embody the spirit of national unity and reinforce the values of love that unite Egyptians in times of prosperity and hardship alike.

The university president further noted that Ain Shams University carries a mission that goes beyond education and scientific research, serving as a broad space where citizens of different backgrounds meet within a framework of mutual respect and sincere appreciation.

He added that welcoming His Grace Anba Ermia on this blessed day represents a true honor for the university and reaffirms that the values of coexistence and national fraternity are deeply rooted in the conscience of Egyptians and have become an inseparable part of their ancient civilizational identity. He also stressed that the university will always remain an open home for all those who carry love for Egypt and a commitment to the unity of its people.
