Successful Evacuation Drill at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University
The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, successfully conducted an evacuation drill at the main building on the morning of Tuesday, November 19, 2025.
This was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Karim El Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; and under the supervision of Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The drill was carried out in coordination with the University’s Civil Defense Department, University Security, and members of the Faculty’s Civil Defense and Security Units.
The evacuation process took a total of six minutes, beginning with the sounding of the alarm siren, which prompted everyone to move quickly and orderly outside the building. Students, faculty members, administrative staff, and workers proceeded to the designated safe assembly points, ensuring no overcrowding and strictly following safety instructions.
The building was thoroughly checked to confirm it was completely evacuated, doors were secured, and an ambulance was present on standby. The entire process was closely monitored to ensure smooth execution without any obstacles.
This drill aimed to train personnel to comply with all safety standards during emergency situations such as earthquakes and fires, enhance the preparedness and efficiency of the Faculty’s Civil Defense Unit in handling potential emergencies, and ensure the safety of the university community while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all.
