Center of Excellence for Research and Training in Stem Cells and Biomaterials Technology (CERT-Bio)
The center is a specialized research unit equipped with a fully integrated laboratory that meets international standards. The project was launched in 2019 to equip the laboratory with funding from the Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STIFA) affiliated with the Ministry of Scientific Research, and it officially began operation in 2022. It is an excellent research environment for researchers aiming to increase national and international publications and collaborations, providing training in the field of biomaterials and cell technology through specialized workshops, and promoting technology transfer to biomaterial and pharmacological industries to achieve competitive products for international markets.
Services and Facilities
● Isolation and classification of stem cells from various tissues, especially dental tissues.
● Culturing and expansion of stem cells for tissue engineering applications.
●Studying and imaging stem cell behavior under different conditions using advanced microscopes.
●Investigating the effects of drugs and treatments on stem cells in tumors and normal tissues.
● Studying cell interactions with biomaterials and analyzing different biomaterial properties.
●Conducting specialized workshops to train researchers in cell handling, precision measurements, and analytical techniques.
