Dean's Word

Prof. Dr. Kariem El-Batouty
Dean of the Faculty
A Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University!
As Dean, it is my immense pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University. Established by Republican Decree No. 287 in 1994, our faculty began classes in the 1995/1996 academic year at the Faculty of Science, initially using labs on the fifth floor of its second building and clinics in the former Nursing School at Demerdash. The first class graduated in 2000, and our permanent building opened in 2009, marking our growth into a leading dental institution. We earned national quality accreditation in 2015 and, most recently, became the first dental faculty in Egypt and the Middle East to receive international AQAS accreditation for our undergraduate programs in 2026, reflecting our commitment to global standards.
Under this roof you will find our beloved Dental School family. These are the dedicated educators, researchers, and clinicians who don't just teach dentistry—they transform lives through innovation and compassion.
To our prospective students: this is your invitation to join us. Imagine honing your skills in hands-on simulations with the latest laser tech, tackling complex cases in all dental specialities. Collaborating on research that shapes the future of dentistry. Our program isn't just about degrees—it's about building confident, compassionate leaders who make a difference, one smile at a time.
We have open spots for passionate individuals ready to dive in.
