Ain Shams University Faculty of Dentistry Organizes Specialized Lecture on “Medication Misuse, Storage, and Reuse”
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abdeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and Prof. Dr. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University organized a specialized scientific lecture entitled “Medication Misuse, Storage, and Reuse”, presented by Dr. Walid Shawky, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Medicine for All Charity Foundation.
The lecture witnessed wide attendance from faculty members, doctors, and students, where Dr. Walid Shawky addressed critical aspects related to the risks of misuse of household medications, proper storage methods to maintain their effectiveness and safety, in addition to the dangers of unregulated reuse, which may lead to serious health complications such as antibiotic resistance or poisoning.
The lecture concluded with a lively interactive discussion, during which attendees asked questions about safe disposal of expired medications and received practical answers from Dr. Walid Shawky. The attendees expressed their gratitude to the patrons and organizers for this valuable event.
