Ain Shams University Faculty of Dentistry Promotes Patient Safety Through Direct Awareness Activities in Dental Clinics

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Kariem El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Yasmine Gamal, Director of the Community Service Projects Unit; and Mr. Abdullah Hassan Ramzy, Director of the Healthcare Quality Unit, with the participation of Abdel Hamid Saber from the nursing staff, the Faculty of Dentistry organized direct patient awareness activities highlighting the importance of patient safety in dental clinics.

This initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to improving healthcare quality and promoting a culture of safety under the slogan:

“Safe Care for Life!”

The awareness activities focused on several key areas, including the importance of disclosing medical history and current medications before receiving treatment, measuring vital signs and ensuring the patient’s health condition is stable, and adhering to infection prevention and control and sterilization procedures in dental clinics.

The initiative also emphasized the importance of effective communication between patients and the medical team, as well as clearly explaining treatment procedures and plans to ensure safer, more comfortable care tailored to each patient’s needs.

This initiative aims to raise patients’ awareness and help them prepare appropriately before receiving treatment, strengthening cooperation between patients and the medical team and contributing to a safer healthcare environment.
