The Public Health Team from the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, along with the participating dentists, organized a medical convoy to Al-Wafaa and Al-Amal Veterans City in Nasr City. The convoy provided comprehensive dental services, including oral examinations, scaling and calculus removal, surgical tooth extractions, and oral health education. Special attention was given to promoting proper oral hygiene among children through demonstrations on the correct toothbrushing technique using a dental model.
The team also provided guidance on healthy dietary habits and their importance in maintaining good oral and dental health.
The convoy achieved the following outcomes:
● Dental examinations and treatment were provided to 35 beneficiaries.
● 20 individuals received professional dental cleaning and calculus removal.
● 10 patients underwent tooth extractions.
● Toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed to all children.
● Age-appropriate illustrated educational storybooks covering dental health topics were distributed, including:
● How to manage a knocked-out tooth.
● Healthy eating habits for maintaining good oral health.
● Educational guides were also distributed to teachers to support oral health education, focusing on the management of dental trauma and promoting healthy nutrition for children.
