Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Rami Maher, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and under the direction of Prof. Dr. Kariem El-Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Reham Magdy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty’s Alumni Follow-up Unit, under the supervision of Dr. Amira El-Naggar, Director of the Unit, organized the Fifth Annual Scientific Alumni Forum on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Grand Conference Hall. Held under the title “Next Chapter Beyond Dentistry,” the forum aimed to strengthen communication with alumni, support their scientific and professional development, and prepare them for the job market.
The forum witnessed the participation of prominent university leaders and academics, including Prof. Dr. Dalia El-Qurashy, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The event also welcomed a distinguished group of deans and vice deans of faculties of dentistry at Egyptian universities, department heads, faculty members, and a large number of students and alumni.
Distinguished attendees included Prof. Dr. Tarek Salah El-Din Hussein, Professor of Biomaterials, Chair of the Supreme Scientific Committee of the Egyptian Board, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Egyptian Health Council, Chair of the Dental Hospital Licensing Committee at the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, and Chair of the Medical Liability Committee for Dentistry; Dr. Walid Hassan, Head of the Cairo Dental Syndicate; Dr. Mohamed Amer, representative of the Egyptian Health Council; Prof. Dr. Ferdous Rizk, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the British University in Egypt; Prof. Dr. Abeer El-Guindy, Professor of Endodontics, Director of the Faculty’s Quality Unit, and Chair of the Training and Continuing Professional Development Committee for the Dentistry Sector; Prof. Dr. Tarek Salah Morsi, Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, and Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Misr International University; Prof. Dr. Khaled Ali Nour, Professor of Operative Dentistry at the Faculty; Dr. Mostafa Taha, Treasurer of the Cairo Dental Syndicate; Prof. Dr. Dina Qashqoush, Head of the Oral Biology Department; and Prof. Dr. Ola Ezzat, Professor of Oral Medicine at the Faculty.
The forum featured a series of interactive lectures. Prof. Dr. Abeer El-Guindy delivered a lecture on the procedures for renewing professional practice licenses, while Prof. Dr. Khaled Ali Nour discussed verbal and nonverbal communication with patients and its impact on building effective therapeutic relationships.
Dr. Mohamed Amer outlined the steps involved in transitioning from the internship year to professional practice. Dr. Walid Hassan addressed the challenges and opportunities in the field of dentistry, while Dr. Mostafa Taha discussed dental clinic management and marketing.
The forum also featured clinical case presentations by recent graduates, alongside a presentation of an innovative project developed by alumni. The project uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create an online platform connecting the Faculty with its graduates and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and professional experience. In addition, the Continuing Education Unit, under the supervision of Dr. Nouran Nasser, announced its upcoming workshop schedule.
The event concluded with the honoring of participants and a group photo, reaffirming the Faculty’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its alumni and supporting them throughout the various stages of their professional careers.
