The Oral Medicine & Diagnosis and Periodontology Department located on the first floor combines expertise in non-surgical oral disease management with periodontal therapy to address complex oral health conditions affecting the mucosa, gums, and supporting structures.
Scope and services
● Oral Medicine component: Diagnoses and manages oral mucosal diseases (ulcers, lichen planus, pemphigus), orofacial pain, salivary gland disorders, TMJ issues, and oral manifestations of systemic diseases (diabetes, autoimmune conditions), using biopsies, labs, and medications.
● Periodontology component: Treats gingivitis/periodontitis with scaling/root planning, flap surgery, bone grafts, implants, and maintenance to preserve teeth and manage periimplant health.
Clinical focus
● Serves as a referral center for medically complex patients, coordinating multidisciplinary care with oncology, rheumatology, and surgery.
● Provides comprehensive diagnostics, nonsurgical/surgical periodontal therapies, dental implants, and preventive strategies for long-term periodontal stability.
