The Digital Center at the Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University is a pioneering complex of specialized units designed to lead the digital transformation of dental education and clinical practice in Egypt and the Middle East.
Rather than a single office, the center comprises several highly specialized technological units:
1. Digital Dental Technology Center
This is a vital hub for community service and research.
● Focus: It provides advanced digital solutions for manufacturing dental prostheses and implants.
● Unique Feature: It is the first in the Middle East to integrate digital occlusion technology and its application in cosmetic and interventional dentistry.
2. Digital Orthodontics Center
Recognized as the first of its kind in the region, this center focuses on the intersection of technology and tooth alignment.
● Educational Role: It develops modern teaching methods for postgraduate students and researchers to master digital orthodontic planning.
● Patient Care: It uses advanced technologies to improve the quality and precision of orthodontic treatments provided at the faculty.
3. Digital Fillings & Implant Unit
This unit was established to modernize restorative procedures.
● CAD/CAM Integration: It utilizes computer technology for the design and manufacture of dental implants and fillings.
● Research Support: Provides high-tech scientific equipment to researchers across Egypt to advance the field of restorative dentistry.
