As part of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University’s commitment to promoting community health awareness, an event was organized on the occasion of World Oral Health Day on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the faculty premises.
The event targeted primary and preparatory school students, with a total of 60 participants. It included a range of educational and awareness activities, such as:
Educating students on proper toothbrushing techniques using dental models to demonstrate the steps (practically).
Raising awareness about healthy dietary habits and their impact on maintaining oral and dental health.
Distributing toothbrushes and toothpaste to the students.
A guided tour was also organized (within the faculty clinics) to familiarize students with the dental clinical environment and help reduce feelings of anxiety and fear associated with visiting the dentist.
At the conclusion of the event, a “Teacher’s Guide” booklet was distributed to the accompanying teachers to support the transfer of awareness messages into the school environment and ensure their continuity
As part of the social and humanitarian role of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University, a celebration was organized on the occasion of Orphan’s Day, during which 100 orphaned children with special needs were hosted.
The event included a variety of recreational activities aimed at bringing joy and happiness to the children, including:
Entertainment games
A magic show
Face painting activities
Distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste
In addition, a preventive service was provided, which included the application of fluoride varnish for 20 children, with the aim of reducing the risk of dental caries and promoting their oral health.
