Ain Shams University Faculty of Dentistry Organizes Specialized Training Course in First Aid

The Faculty of Dentistry at Ain Shams University organized a specialized training course in first aid, under the patronage of:

  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abdeen, President of Ain Shams University,

  • Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development,

  • Prof. Dr. Karim El-Batouti, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and

  • Prof. Dr. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The course came within the framework of the faculty’s keenness to develop the skills of students and staff, providing them with knowledge and practical applications in first aid, which enhances preparedness to handle medical emergencies and contributes to community service.

The course was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abu El-Yazid, Senior Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Director of Planning at the National Training Center of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, who presented the training program in an interactive and practical manner, alongside first aid supervision by Mr. Sayed Saad Sayed.

The course focused on a number of essential first aid skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), dealing with severe bleeding and burns, with practical exercises conducted for the participants. The course witnessed wide participation from students and faculty members, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to community service and environmental development programs.

Prof. Dr. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that this course is part of a series of training programs aimed at preparing a qualified dentist capable of responding quickly to emergency cases outside the clinic.

Dr. Ahmed Abu El-Yazid also emphasized the importance of cooperation between universities and the Egyptian Ambulance Authority to raise the level of first aid efficiency nationally.
