Ain Shams University – Faculty of Dentistry World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week
Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Karim El Batouty, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, and under the supervision of Prof. Walaa Hamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Infection Control Unit at the Faculty of Dentistry organized the activities of the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, in cooperation with the Egyptian Society of Infection Control.
The events were attended by a distinguished group of experts and speakers, including:

Dr. Dina Irfan, Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and Infection Control Consultant at the Faculty of Dentistry.

Dr. Nour Wahba, Lecturer of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Maha Fathy, Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and President of the Egyptian Society of Infection Control.

The activities aimed to raise awareness among students and staff about the importance of the proper use of antibiotics to limit antimicrobial resistance and to highlight the health risks associated with misuse. The campaign included a series of lectures and workshops addressing the latest strategies for infection prevention and control within healthcare settings.
This initiative reflects the commitment of Ain Shams University and its Faculty of Dentistry to promoting a culture of public health and prevention, and to actively contributing to protecting society from the growing global threat of antimicrobial resistance.
