Article (1)
Departments of the Faculty for the Bachelor’s Degree

The Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University, consists of the following departments:

  1. Department of Oral and Dental Biology

  2. Department of Oral and Dental Pathology

  3. Department of Dental Biomaterials

  4. Department of Conservative Dentistry

  5. Department of Crowns and Bridges

  6. Department of Endodontics

  7. Department of Prosthodontics for the Oral and Maxillofacial Region, which includes the following specialties:

    • Complete and Partial Denture Prosthodontics

    • Maxillofacial and Oral Prosthodontics

  8. Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

  9. Department of Orthodontics, which includes the following specialties:

    • Orthodontics

    • Pediatric Dentistry and Community Oral Health

  10. Department of Oral Medicine, which includes the following specialties:

    • Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Diagnosis

    • Oral Radiology

Ain Shams University, upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Dentistry Council, awards the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree.

Part  Two

Article (3)
The duration of study for obtaining the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree is five academic years, divided into two stages as follows:

  1. The Pre-Clinical Stage (First, Second, and Third Years).

  2. The Clinical Stage (Fourth and Fifth Years).
