Biography

Dr. Mohamed Yousef earned his B.Sc. (Honors, 2003) in Geology, followed by an M.Sc. (2006) and Ph.D. (2010) in Structural Geology, all from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor at the same institution. Dr. Yousef’s research is centered on the structural and tectonic evolution of sedimentary basins, with a focus on regions such as the northern Western Desert, Suez Rift, Nile Delta, and offshore North Sinai in Egypt. His expertise spans the study of extension, inversion, strike-slip, and thrust terrains. Incorporating both fieldwork and the interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic datasets, Dr. Yousef specializes in structural restoration and fault analysis. His academic contributions also include the co-supervision of over twenty M.Sc. and Ph.D. dissertations, fostering the next generation of geoscientists.
