Ain Shams University Invites Female Faculty Staff and Researchers to Apply for the 2026 Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award

As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting and empowering women, encouraging participation and excellence in sports, and promoting women’s role in achieving sporting success and highlighting their outstanding contributions, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the University announces the opening of applications for the 10th edition of the “Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award.”

The Award is organized by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with the aim of recognizing outstanding achievements in women’s sports, celebrating distinguished sporting talent and professionals, and highlighting women’s contributions to the development of sports and strengthening their presence at both the local and Arab levels.

This prestigious annual award seeks to empower women, spotlight their sporting achievements, and honor outstanding talents and professionals in the UAE and across the Arab world.

The total prize value amounts to AED 2,200,000, distributed across nine categories:

Categories of the 2026 Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award:

1. Best Arab Female Athlete Award.
2. Best Emirati Female Athlete Award.
3. Best Women’s Sports Team Award.
4. Best Female Paralympic Athlete Award.
5. Best Young Female Athlete Award (12–14 years).
6. Best Female Athlete in Non-Olympic Sports Award.
7. Best Coach Award.
8. Best Sports Media Influencer Award.
9. Best Sports Family Award.

The Award also includes an additional honorary category entitled “Sports Personality of the Year.”

First: Documents Required to Complete the Nomination Procedures through Ain Shams University

Female faculty staff and researchers wishing to apply for the Award and meeting the eligibility requirements are required to submit the following documents:

1. An official nomination letter approved by the faculty.
2. The nominee’s details include name, academic degree/position, faculty and department, email address, and telephone/WhatsApp number.
3. A recent official employment statement indicating the nominee’s current position and confirming that no disciplinary penalties have been imposed, in accordance with university procedures.
4. A statement outlining the grounds for nomination, including the nominee’s most significant sporting achievements, titles and awards, participation in local, Arab, and international sporting events, as well as areas of distinction and contributions to women’s sports, according to the relevant award category.
5. An updated sports CV highlighting the nominee’s major sporting participation, achievements, awards, and honors.
6. Supporting documentation for sporting achievements, such as certificates, awards, medals, letters of recognition, or other documents verifying participation and sporting results, according to the nomination category.

Second: Documents Required for Submission to the Award Organizers

Applicants are requested to complete the documents and information required for their respective award categories. Key requirements include:

• An officially approved letter issued by the National Olympic Committee or the relevant sports federation documenting the achievements.
• A copy of a valid passport.
• A sports CV, academic certificates, and a recent personal photograph (optional/depending on the category).

Third: Nomination Deadlines

To ensure the timely completion of nomination procedures, applicants are requested to observe the following deadlines:

• Deadline for nominations submitted by faculties to Ain Shams University: September 27, 2026.
• Deadline for applications submitted to the Award organizers: September 30, 2026.
