Ain Shams University Invites Faculty Staff and Researchers to Apply for the 2026 Earth’s Guards Scientific Research Award

As part of Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting distinguished scientific research, encouraging faculty staff and researchers to produce innovative research with practical and societal impact, and strengthening the University’s role in advancing sustainable development and addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, the University announces the opening of applications for the Earth’s Guards Scientific Research Award.

The award, launched by the Earth’s Guards Foundation in cooperation with Cairo University, aims to recognize outstanding scientific research that offers innovative and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges and strengthens the role of scientific research in advancing sustainable development.

Award Categories

The award covers research areas related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), most notably:

• Scientific research and innovation.
• Health and quality of life.
• Poverty and hunger eradication and food security.
• Peace, justice, and effective institutions.
• Environmental protection and conservation of natural resources.
• Green economy and sustainable economic development.
• Pollution reduction and addressing environmental challenges.
• Gender equality and women’s empowerment.
• Innovative solutions and technologies supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

Key Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be researchers affiliated with an academic or research institution in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
• The submitted research must be original and published in an international scientific journal indexed in Web of Science and ranked in the first or second quartile (Q1 or Q2) according to the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
• The research must have been published in 2025 or 2026.
• The research must address an area of sustainability and provide a clear scientific or practical contribution.
• Each researcher may submit only one research paper.

Documents Required by Ain Shams University

• Faculty staff and researchers wishing to be nominated must submit the following documents:
• An official nomination letter approved by the faculty.
• The nominee’s details including name, position, email address, and WhatsApp number.
• A recent employment status statement confirming that the nominee has no disciplinary penalties.
• A statement outlining the grounds for nomination and the distinguishing features of the work or scientific output nominated for the award.
• An updated CV.
• Proof of registration on the Ain Shams University Awards Database through the designated registration link: https://staff.asu.edu.eg/ar/award-apply

Documents Required for Submission to the Award Organizers

• A complete PDF copy of the published research paper.
• A separate copy of the research paper’s title page.
• Proof of the journal’s name, year of publication, and Web of Science/JCR classification.
• The researcher’s CV.
• An official letter from the applicant’s institution.
• A copy of the applicant’s national ID card.
• A recent personal photograph with a white background.

Application Deadlines

To ensure that all nomination procedures are completed within the specified timeframe, applicants are requested to observe the following deadlines:

• Deadline for nominations submitted by faculties to the University: September 25, 2026.
• Deadline for applicants to submit their applications to the award organizers: September 30, 2026.
