Prof. Dr. Walid Elkhatib is the chairman of Microbiology & Immunology Department at Faculty of Pharmacy, Galala University and he is the founder and first vice dean and interim dean of the faculty. Dr. Elkhatib was also a chairman of Microbiology and Immunology Department and one of the founders of Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Furthermore, Dr. Elkhatib is an arbitrator in the national promotion committee of professorship (Microbiology & Immunology specialty) in Supreme Council of Universities (SCU). Dr. Elkhatib is an eminent and certified trainer from various national and international authorities including UNESCO. Dr. Elkhatib had his postdoctoral fellowship in infectious diseases from University of Minnesota Duluth, MN, USA. He has led many interdisciplinary collaborative research projects in multiple institutions including Ain Shams University (ASU), University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), Hampton University (HU), Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), University of California Irvine (UCI), and Chapman University (CU). As an eminent Microbiologist, he was invited by the International Congress of Bacteriology and Infectious Diseases (Baltimore, MD, USA) as an expert and speaker in 161th Omics Group Conference and he received an award of recognition for his phenomenal presentation and outstanding research. Moreover, Dr. Elkhatib has been invited to several Television and Radio programs for raising awareness about COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. Dr. Elkhatib is internationally certified trainer of trainers (TOT) with fabulous history of training academic and administrative staff in various prestigious universities.
