I am currently a Soil Management Scientist within the Sustainable Natural Resources Management section at ICBA. Before joining ICBA in October 2018, I worked as an associate professor of
soil sciences at Ain Shams University, Egypt, and at the Soils Department at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where I held the position of Assistant Professor of
Environmental Soil Chemistry for eight years.
During my career, I led or participated in many research projects to enhance soil health through sustainable nutrient management.
My research focuses on integrated soil fertility management that involves the recycling of biomass of organic origin as a potential sustainable source for nutrients and organic matter in
agricultural systems biological. I also study the impact of the soil amendments on soil health parameters and on Soil GHGs emissions. These amendments include Biochar, manure,
compost, and chemically treated compost. In addition to the organic amendments, my research involved the best practice use of inorganic fertilizers, clay minerals, and natural deposits. During
my carrier, I build a strong international experience in soil survey and soil suitability for agriculture, which enabled me to participate on the Editorial board of soil Atlas of Asia. I hold a
Ph.D. in Soil Sciences and Environmental Management from the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. And I published more than 25 research publications in
peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
