Prof. Wail Ismail Abdel Barry
Biography
Professor Wail Ismail Abdel Barry is a leading Egyptian academic specializing in mass communication, sociology, and media studies. He served as Head of the Sociology Department at Ain Shams University’s Faculty of Women for Arts, Science & Education, with a career spanning Egypt, the UAE, and international collaborations. Professor Barry has contributed extensively to Arab and international scholarship in media and communication: • Contemporary Quantitative and Qualitative Public Relations Research Methods in Arab Scholarly Studies (2024). • Mediatization and Patterns of Social Interaction on Social Media (2024). • The Social Construction of the Arab Online Media Audience (2010). • Teaching Public Relations in the Information Age: A Case Study at an Egyptian University (2005). ORCID: 0000-0001-6177-1851 His work often explores digital media, public relations, social interaction, and the sociological impact of technology in Egypt and the Arab world.
