Biography
TAREK F. GHARIB received the Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1994. He is currently a Full Professor of information systems at Ain Shams University, where he is also the Head of the Information Systems Department, Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences. He has over 70 publications. His research interests include developing novel data mining and machine learning techniques, especially for applications in text mining, social networks, Bioinformatics, and Data analytics. He received the National Science Foundation Award, in 2001.
