Biography

I am Mina Fahmy, an Assistant Lecturer of Chemistry at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. I earned my Master of Science degree with a focus on the synthesis and characterization of novel transition metal complexes, resulting in the publication of two significant research papers. My work aimed to design highly efficient complexes with applications in biological systems and fluorescent sensors for aluminum ion detection, with a limit of detection reaching as low as nM. Following my M.Sc., I delved into the preparation of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and composites, focusing on their vital role in removing contaminants from wastewater and their application in electrochemical detection of both inorganic and organic substances. Additionally, I was selected to participate in the Erasmus+ international credit mobility program. This opportunity allowed me to engage in a three-month research study at the Ceramics Materials Group at Technische Universität Berlin in Germany. Currently, my research interest is focusing on: 1-water treatment. 2-Electrochemical sensor development. 3-Metal-Organic framework and its derivatives. 4-Determination and adsorption of organic pollutants. 5-Photodegradation of Pollutants.
