Academic Biography of Professor Dr. Sahar Mohamed Ali Abou Bakr Professor Dr. Sahar Mohamed Ali Abou Bakr is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in teaching, scientific research, and international scholarly publishing. She has made significant contributions to research published in prestigious peer-reviewed international journals, helping to enhance the global ranking and academic reputation of Ain Shams University. In recognition of her outstanding scientific achievements and active participation in academic and research activities, she has received numerous certificates of appreciation and honors from the University. Throughout her career, she has been committed to advancing knowledge, supporting research excellence, and contributing to the development of higher education and scientific innovation, specifically through leadership in curriculum development, supervision of postgraduate research, quality assurance and accreditation initiatives, international publications, and active participation in academic conferences and institutional development programs. Professor Dr. Sahar Mohamed Ali Abou Bakr is a Professor of Pure Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University. She has been serving at the university since 1990, with a distinguished academic career spanning more than three decades. Throughout her professional journey, she has made substantial contributions to teaching, research, academic leadership, quality assurance, and institutional development. 1-Teaching and Academic Responsibilities She has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pure Mathematics, and has supervised numerous graduation projects, Master’s theses, and Ph.D. dissertations. Her teaching philosophy is distinguished by an innovative and interactive approach that enhances student engagement, improves academic performance, and consistently contributes to the development of high-achieving students. She is responsible for examination preparation and administration, participation in examination committees, review processes, grading of student answer scripts, and ensuring timely and accurate release of results in accordance with the highest academic standards. She performs all assigned academic and administrative duties with efficiency, professionalism, and full commitment to educational excellence. She has completed fourteen training courses for faculty members and has participated in numerous scientific seminars and academic events within the Department and the Faculty. 2-Research, Publications, and Scholarly Work Professor Abou Bakr has an extensive research record in Pure Mathematics, with a strong focus on Functional Analysis, Fixed Point Theory, Coupled Fixed Point Theory, and their applications in Approximation Theory, Optimization, and Differential Equations. She has authored and published seven scientific books in Pure Mathematics and donated copies of her internationally published works to the Mathematics Department Library and the Faculty of Science Library at Ain Shams University. Two additional books have been completed and submitted for peer review. She has published forty-four research papers in reputable peer-reviewed international journals and publishing houses, with three additional papers submitted for review. She has participated in twenty-five scientific conferences, either through research presentations or academic attendance. According to Google Scholar, her current h-index is 8. Her research contributions include original ideas, theoretical advancements, and generalizations of existing results, many of which have practical applications in solving real-world problems. She has also supervised scientific research papers and served as a reviewer and examiner for Master’s and Ph.D. theses. She is an external reviewer for several international journals, including the Asian Journal of Mathematics & Computer Research, the International Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, the AIMS Mathematics Journal, and the International Journal of Mathematics and Computer Science. She is a member of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, actively contributing to its scientific and academic activities. 3-Academic Development and Quality Assurance Professor Abou Bakr has played a major role in academic development and quality assurance. In 2014, she developed the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the Department of Mathematics and participated in curriculum development for Pure Mathematics programs. In 2015, she contributed to the development of the postgraduate program in Pure Mathematics and served as coordinator of the Pure Mathematics and Computer Science Program. She also supervised the preparation of quality assurance and accreditation documentation. Her contributions were instrumental in the Faculty of Science obtaining institutional accreditation in 2016. These efforts later contributed to the successful accreditation of multiple academic programs in 2025, including Computer Science, Mathematical Statistics, and Dual Computer Science programs. She served as a program director, consultant, reviewer, and quality assurance specialist, contributing to self-study reports and accreditation files for sixteen academic programs during the 2023–2024 accreditation cycle. She was also invited by the Egyptian Academy of Engineering and Advanced Technology (Ministry of Military Production) to review quality assurance files and course specifications, receiving formal letters of appreciation on April 19, 2026. 4-Academic Leadership and Administrative Roles She served as Head of the Department of Mathematics from August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2025, and chaired the Department Council for three consecutive years. During her tenure, she implemented significant academic and administrative improvements and supported program development and accreditation efforts. She served as a member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee (2014–2018) and the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee (2018–2021). She also served as an alternate member of the Faculty of Science Council (2021–2025). She is known for her active support of postgraduate students and her participation in thesis defenses and academic discussions. 5-Scientific Events and Conferences She served as Chief Organizer and General Coordinator of the Annual Mathematics Department Conferences held on June 18, 2023; May 29, 2024; and April 26, 2025. These events recognized academic excellence and promoted scientific exchange among faculty members, students, and researchers. She also played an active role in organizing multiple scientific forums, seminars, and cultural events within the Faculty of Science, including graduate forums and stakeholder engagement activities. In addition, she served as President and General Coordinator of the international conference “Multidisciplinary Trends in Mathematical Sciences and Applications: MTMSA2024” held on July 20, 2024, under the patronage of Ain Shams University leadership and in cooperation with the Egyptian Mathematical Society. 6-Infrastructure Development and Institutional Support During her tenure as Head of the Department, she contributed to the development and upgrading of departmental infrastructure, including offices, laboratories, and library facilities. She also supported the activation of departmental laboratories and academic resources to enhance the educational environment and prepare for accreditation requirements. She played a key role in supervising the Computer Science laboratories within the new Ain Shams Science Labs building, contributing to their readiness for academic programs and expansion. 7-Research Projects and Sustainable Development She actively participated in funded research projects at Ain Shams University, including: (a) A project on computer-assisted instruction for improving skills of children with disabilities using assistive technologies, completed in April 2023 with published research outcomes. (b) A research project aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on artificial intelligence applications in water pollution prediction and environmental sustainability. The project runs from July 27, 2025, to August 20, 2026, and addresses key SDGs including health, clean water, energy, climate action, and marine ecosystems. 8-Honors and Awards Professor Abou Bakr has received numerous honors, including: • The Faculty of Science Medal and Certificate of Appreciation (2016) for contributions to institutional accreditation. • Medal of Appreciation from the Egyptian Mathematical Society (2024). • University Shield and Certificate of Appreciation (2025) for leadership of the Department of Mathematics. • Recognition by the Egyptian Mathematical Society for supervising the best Ph.D. thesis in Pure Mathematics (2025). • Multiple international publication awards indexed in Scopus and Clarivate Analytics.

(iii) Professor Sahar Mohamed Ali Abubakr served as Chair and General Coordinator of the one-day conference of the Mathematics Department on July 20, 2024, titeld, “Multidisciplinary Trends in Mathematical Science and its Applications (MTMSA2024)

”. The conference was held under the auspices of His Excellency the President of Ain Shams University, Professor Diaa El-Din Zein El-Abedin, His Excellency the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Mohamed Ragab Mohamed El-Satouhy, and Their Excellencies the Vice Deans of the Faculty of Science: Professor Wael Samir, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Professor Iman Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Professor Amal Ahmed Morsy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The conference was coordinated and supported by the Egyptian Mathematical Society, represented by Professor Fayez Mohamed Fayek Ghaleb, President of the Egyptian Mathematical Society and Professor Emeritus of Computer Science in the Mathematics and Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aati, Vice President of the Egyptian Mathematical Society and Professor of Applied Mathematics at Sohag University, in the presence of a group of distinguished scientists and professors of mathematics with high scientific and literary reputation, and a group of young researchers at the level of universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
