The Critical Care and Emergency Nursing Department prepares second-year nursing students to deal with patients in emergency and critical care units as a result of accidents, injuries, or severe illnesses that require rapid, decisive, and appropriate intervention to save their lives. This program provides students with evidence-based information and intellectual and practical skills

To be a model of academic excellence among nursing departments at the national and regional levels. To be a pioneer in education that develops intellectual and practical abilities, meets the needs of the labor market, and links education to the community.

Department Mission:

The Critical Care Nursing Department seeks to prepare students with a scientific and practical foundation that qualifies them to deal with critical and emergency patients, while remaining fully committed to nursing ethics and professional development through lifelong learning. The department seeks to establish channels of communication and cooperation with all similar disciplines at regional and international universities

The Critical Care and Emergency Nursing Department at the Faculty of Nursing, Ain Shams University, seeks to apply the nursing process and problem-solving approach to nursing critically ill patients and caring for their families in emergency and critical situations. The Critical Care Nursing curriculum focuses on teaching students the responsibilities of critical care nurses in providing medical care to patients and how to work with advanced technological tools and environments, such as virtual laboratories

The Department of Critical Care and Emergency Nursing teaches (8) undergraduate courses taught in one semester. These include:

• Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, a theoretical course with practical training in the laboratory and hospital.
