Job Description

Unit Director

• Utilizing information technology to enhance the efficiency of scientific research.
• Training faculty members and their assistants on uploading learning resources for courses and using wired and wireless IT tools in the educational process.
• Submitting periodic technical reports to the Director of the Network and Information Technology Center regarding the unit's activities in the field of IT.
• Monitoring the operation and maintenance of wired and wireless communication networks within the faculty.
• Supervising the maintenance and upgrading of computers and printers.
• Overseeing the activation and operation of the university email service for students, faculty members, and staff.
• Monitoring and operating services related to the university's electronic management system.
• Applying information technology to support the educational process and scientific research.
• Updating Faculty data, including student records, faculty and staff information, and other relevant Faculty details.

Technician support (Responsible for networks, internet access points, and technical support).

• Operating and maintaining the information network.
• Monitoring the technical usage of the network and providing technical support to all users.
• Carrying out necessary expansions of the faculty’s wired and wireless network in coordination with the university network and activating video conference devices at the faculty.
• Supervising the periodic maintenance of computers and their accessories.
• Identifying shortcomings, analyzing faults, and developing appropriate solutions for computer systems.
• Preparing periodic reports on the condition of equipment and laboratories within the faculty.
• Installing original software and antivirus programs.
• Updating computer software
• Maintaining computers and printers or supervising maintenance contracts.

Electronic Portal

• Activating and operating the email service for students and faculty members.
• Utilizing the Faculty’s official website to communicate with all relevant parties.
• Collecting and publishing Faculty news on the faculty’s webpage and social media platforms.
• Updating the Faculty’s data on the electronic portal.
• Training students and raising awareness on how to benefit from electronic portals.
• Responsible for handling plagiarism reports for postgraduate students.
• Member of the Faculty’s inventory and procurement affairs team for database management.

Unit Coordinators from Various Academic Departments.

• Regular monitoring of computer labs according to the weekly academic department schedules.
• Ensuring the proper functioning of computers and the internet network, with immediate reporting of any issues or malfunctions.
• Assisting faculty members in operating computers and using necessary IT tools for lectures and workshops.
• Announcing academic department activities (scientific seminars, department conferences, research activities) in collaboration with the Faculty’s Electronic Services Unit.
• Continuously updating the academic department database on the faculty website in coordination with the Electronic Services Unit.
• Providing necessary data and information to update the database for faculty members and their assistants in the academic departments.
• Activating university email accounts for students, faculty members, and their assistants in academic departments, with immediate reporting of any issues in collaboration with the Electronic Services Unit.
