Mission: Empowering faculty members and supporting staff to publish their research in prestigious international journals indexed in databases like Scopus and Web of Science, by providing technical, advisory, and financial support, while enhancing international research collaboration, to improve the university's academic ranking and elevate scientific research both locally and globally.

• Focal Point Unit Goals:

• Enhancing Research Quality: Increasing the volume of research published in prestigious international journals indexed in databases like Scopus and Web of Science, thereby enhancing the quality of research at the Faculty of Nursing.
• Achieving Progress in Ain Shams University’s Ranking: Contributing to improving Ain Shams University’s global ranking by supporting the international publication process and encouraging faculty members to publish their research in international scientific journals.
• Supporting Faculty Members: Providing necessary support for faculty members and the supporting staff through consultations and assistance in the international publication process, including choosing appropriate journals and preparing research for publication.
• Promoting Scientific International Culture: Raising awareness about the importance of international publication in scientific research and educating faculty members and students about the importance of participating in international conferences and journals to enhance their scientific presence globally.

International Publication Reward Application Procedures:

• The application period for the reward is open from January 1 to 31 and from July 1 to 31 of each year.
• Researchers must enter their national ID number and computer number along with the participants' details, and upload a PDF version of the research on the university's website: https://www.asu.edu.eg/staffPortal/ar/internationalPublication/reward
• The publication date of the research must be within the six months preceding the application date.
• The applicant must be a faculty member, supporting staff, or employee at Ain Shams University.

Procedures for the Focal Point unit:

1. Receiving Publication Requests from Faculty Members:
   • Receiving publication requests from faculty members and supporting staff, including research ready for publication.
   • Providing consultations on selecting appropriate international scientific journals for publishing the research.
   • Coordinating with researchers and following up on their progress to obtain rewards for publishing their research in prestigious international journals, to encourage scientific publication.
2. Research Review and Technical Assistance:
   • Conducting an initial review of the research to verify its alignment with international publication standards.
   • Providing assistance in formatting and editing research before submission to scientific journals.
   • Ensuring that the research adheres to the rules and style required by global journals.
3. Guidance on International Publication:
   • Organizing workshops and seminars to train faculty members and supporting staff on how to write scientific research for international publication.
   • Providing guidance on databases such as Scopus and Web of Science and the importance of publishing in indexed journals.
   • Assisting in following journal guidelines and submitting research to journals.
   • Following up on the status of research submitted to journals and providing necessary support in case there are comments from the journals.
4. Presenting Periodic Reports to the College Administration:
   • Preparing periodic reports that outline the progress of international publication activities and their outcomes, including the number of published research and journal rankings.
   • Monitoring the impact of published research on the university’s ranking in global classifications.
5. Keeping Up with Developments in Scientific Research:
   • Monitoring the latest trends in international scientific research to ensure that the research being published aligns with these trends.
   • Encouraging researchers to work in emerging research areas that contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
