This week the Egyptian Center for Clinical Research MASRI-CRC hosted a high-level delegation from Aleksion - the medical arm for treating rare diseases of AstraZenica International Company -

This is in the framework of promoting strategic cooperation to improve and develop healthcare provided to patients with rare diseases in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The delegation included both: Dr. Patrick Mikowski, Vice President of Global Clinical Research, Dr. Ahmed Hejazi, Director of Middle East Markets, Dr. Thomas Labib, Medical Director for Rare Diseases - Egypt and Dr. Ahmed Abu Talib, Director of Research at the company - Egypt.

The visit came in line with Egypt's national efforts and reaffirming its pioneering role in supporting public health issues, which led to its historic decision on rare diseases during the World Health Association last May.

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen partnership between the sides in developing healthcare infrastructure, driving innovation in medical research, and sharing experiences to build research capacities, supporting the achievement of Health Egypt vision 2030.

The Visit program included a comprehensive presentation by Dr. Fatima Obaid, Director of the Clinical Research Center, who reviewed the Center's advanced technical and technical capabilities and research achievements, followed by a tour of the Center's modern facilities. The meeting also included a meeting with Professor Dr. Hisham Al-Ghazali, Director of the Egyptian Research Center, to explore the prospects of future cooperation and to formulate executive plans for achieving a quality shift in the service of patients with rare diseases.

The delegation expresses its pride in the ongoing strategic partnership with the Egyptian state and its health institutions, affirming AstraZenica's commitment to working together with health authorities and research centers in Egypt to provide the best possible service to the Egyptian patient.
