I am an Assistant Professor in Computer and Information Sciences, holding a PhD in Computer Science (Speech Processing & Natural Language Processing), with a focus on developing applied AI systems that bridge academic research and real-world deployment—particularly in healthcare and human–AI interaction. \n I am committed to delivering high-quality, student-centered teaching that integrates theoretical foundations with practical application. I design and deliver courses in AI, Natural Language Processing, and related areas, employing innovative teaching methods that promote critical thinking, problem solving, and active student engagement. I also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, mentoring students to develop both technical expertise and independent research skills. My research focuses on speech and language technologies, with an emphasis on building robust and context-aware AI systems. I actively contribute to research and scholarly activities through publications, collaborative projects, and interdisciplinary partnerships, while seeking to translate research outcomes into practical applications aligned with real-world needs. I lead "Shams Robot," a humanoid robotic nurse initiative that integrates NLP, speech technologies, and socially aware interaction models to enhance patient experience and support healthcare environments. This work reflects my broader interest in developing AI systems that are not only technically effective, but also human-centered and impactful. I actively collaborate with academic and industry partners, contributing to research initiatives, funding proposals, and knowledge transfer activities. I am also engaged in academic service and institutional development, contributing to committees, program development, and quality assurance processes, while fostering a collaborative and interdisciplinary working environment. I bring strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with a commitment to academic excellence, professional integrity, and continuous development. I am particularly motivated to contribute to dynamic academic environments that value innovation in teaching, impactful research, and meaningful engagement with students and the wider community.
