Dr. Sherif Okeil

Institute for Particle Technology and Laboratory for Emerging Nanometrology, Technische Universität Braunschweig, 38104 Braunschweig, Germany.

Biography:

Sherif Okeil is currently working as a postdoc and a competence team leader for synthesis of nanomaterials in Georg Garnweitner’s group at the Institute for Particle Technology, Technical University of Braunschweig. He received his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt in 2009 after which he obtained his masters in Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry in 2013 from the same university. In 2014, he was awarded a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through which he was able to obtain his Ph.D. from Jörg Schneider’s lab in Inorganic and Physical Chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt in 2020. His current research interests are inorganic nanomaterial synthesis and their electronic applications as well as photocatalytic and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) applications. His further research interests include the application of analysis techniques like electrochemistry, spectroscopy and chromatography in drug and environmental analysis.
