Biography:

Prof. Nichole Teusch is the Managing director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology and Biotechnology, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany. Prof. Nichole got her Diploma in Biology from Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany in 1998. She then obtained her PhD in 2002 from the department of Immunology at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), La Jolla, CA, USA. In 2019, she was awarded the Bionorica Award for natural product-based drug discovery in 3D pancreatic cancer models during the 67th Annual Meeting of the Society for Medicinal Plants and Natural Product Research (GA), Innsbruck, Austria. Her scientific expertise includes various research areas such as the isolation, purification of natural products bioactivity-guided screening for therapeutic indications and the development of novel human three-dimensional engineered tissues considering cellular heterogeneity amenable for miniaturized and semiautomated drug characterization.

Title of the talk: Multicellular human 3D engineered tissues for natural product-based drug discovery”.
