A successful evacuation experience at the Faculty of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University organized an experiment to evacuate the faculty headquarters, under the auspices of Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Sahar Musa, Dean of the Faculty, and the supervision of Dr. Hayam Refaat, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of Dr. Rania Abdel Hamid, Director of the Disaster and Crisis Unit at the Faculty, and Mrs. Amani Shaheen, Secretary of the Faculty, Muhammad Abdullah, Head of the Civil Defense Unit in the Faculty, members of the faculty staff, the teaching assistants and students of the Faculty.

Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa explained that the experimental operation was completed successfully amid strict precautionary measures. As the faculty buildings were completely evacuated from faculty staff, teaching assistants, students, administrators, and workers.

Prof. Dr. Sahar Moussa confirmed that the experiment was preceded by an awareness workshop for the attendees, noting that the evacuation process aimed to train the human element to adhere to all security standards in the event of any natural disasters such as fires or earthquakes, and to raise the efficiency of the civil defense department in the college in managing any emergency that may occur, and implementing a number of strategies aimed at achieving maximum safety.
