Within the framework of the Faculty of Education's keenness on awareness programs in the field of women's support and combating violence, the Faculty hosted the "Not Normal" initiative launched by the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the university by organizing a symposium entitled "Not Normal" and an accompanying workshop on the Self-Defense Window, under generous sponsorship. from U.S. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Abdel-Fattah Saud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Hazem Rashid, Dean of the Faculty and Prof. Safaa Shehata, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Aladdin Abdel Halim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with Prof. Hind Al-Hilali, Executive Director of the Women’s Support and Anti-Violence Unit, and at the invitation of a group of specialists in this field from the National Council for Women, the Supreme Council for Culture and specialized research centers, and coinciding with the 16 days of combating violence against women, where he spoke at the symposium Prof. M. Walid Rashad, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the National Center for Social and Criminological Research and a member of the Philosophy, Sociology and Anthropology Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture, discussed means of dealing with violence, especially electronic violence, and methods of protection from it. He called for spreading the positives on social media and not focusing on the negatives, as Dr. Seham Gibril, a member of the National Council for Women, rapporteur of the Governorates Committee, a colleague of the Nasser Higher Military Academy, and a former member of the Egyptian Parliament, also spoke.

         
   
         

Her Excellency addressed the role of the National Center for Women in supporting the family and women and methods of confronting violence in society. Dr.. Hind Al-Hilali, on the role of the unit in supporting women and combating violence against women, the various activities of the unit and its developmental role by providing some training courses in some handicrafts and rooftop cultivation.

The seminar was moderated by Prof. Amal Shams, professor of sociology and unit coordinator at the college, attended the symposium by a large number of members of the Supreme Council of Culture, faculty members, and a large audience of college students.

Everyone expressed their happiness with this symposium and its cultural and educational importance, and expressed their desire to repeat such purposeful cultural symposiums. The students also emphasized the extent to which the symposium topic was useful and important in addressing their daily problems.

Many faculty staff and students participated in many interventions and questions that were answered, and to complement the initiative, an accompanying workshop on the self-defense window was organized by Dr. Amani Abdel-Al, a clinical psychologist, as one of the basic pillars of women's self-protection. At the end of the meeting, he thanked all the students And members of the faculty, the efforts made by the college and the university to support all activities aimed at supporting women and combating violence, and many memorial photos were taken with the lecturers, and the lecturers were honored, and many important recommendations were made in the field of student support and the establishment of a volunteer team of students in the field of Community service and environment development, adopting these important topics and completing the training system in this field, through coordination with the Women's Support and Anti-Violence Unit at the university in order to achieve security and safety among all members of society in order to achieve the mission of the college and the university in this field.
