Ain Shams University is preparing for two certificates in quality

Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel-Hamid, Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser, Secretary General of the University, met Eng. Magid Ahmed, Operations Manager at Intertek International Company. The aim of the meeting was to agree on the final touches and to set the date of the visit of the representatives of Intertek company to the ISO certificate to review the implementation of all procedures in preparation for granting the University the certificate (ISO: 9001- 2015) as well as the Quality Management Certificate ISO: 14001.

Eng. Nabil Bakri, ISO Consultant at the University, Prof. Dr. Rasha Khafagi, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the University, Prof. Dr. Hayam Saad Director of Quality Management and Mrs. Donia Training Officer at Intertek.

During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel-Hamid confirmed that the university is keen to implement the latest international quality systems that are in line with Ain Shams University's reputation as a research and academic institution with a competitive advantage, pointing out that the university has succeeded in obtaining the quality certificate (9001: 2008) three years ago. ISO 9001: 2015 is the latest certification.

Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser said that Ain Shams University has not only obtained the quality certificate for the administrative system, but is currently taking all necessary measures to obtain the University's Quality Management Certificate (ISO: 14001) On the environment at the same time.

Eng. Nabil Bakri explained that the process of applying the quality system (ISO: 9001- 2015) is carried out according to five stages (planning, training, documentation, application and registration for the certificate). He confirmed that Ain Shams University has a team of 33 individuals representing all departments of the university, praising the efforts of the team and his strong boost to the speed of completion of all stages in a short period not exceeding four months.

Engineer Maged Ahmed also praised Ain Shams University for renewing the ISO certificate periodically every 3 years and seeking to obtain the latest versions. He confirmed that representatives of Intertek Company would be awarded the ISO certification on September 5 to carry out the final review procedures before granting the certificate.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser said that the possibility of signing a protocol of cooperation between the university and Intertek in the field of training students on quality systems and principles is being studied. The trainee will receive a certificate from both sides.
