Within the framework of the Comprehensive development plan at Ain Shams Specialized hospital in the fields of sterilization and infection control Prof. Dr. Hussein Essa, the University's President inaugurated the largest and most modern center for sterilization in the Middle East and North Africa cooperation with the Swedish company "Getinge" on Tuesday 12 March at 10:00 a.m. ,the inaugurating will be attended by the Vices-Presidents of the university, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Helmi Alghar, the director of the hospital,Prof. Dr.Mamdouh Al Kafrawy, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mr. John Hudson, the director of participated Swedish company in developing the unit and a group of people interested in this field.
Prof. Dr. Hussein Essa confirmed his concern and support to all the development work at the hospital in order to provide a high level service that is suitable for the University's staff and employees.
Prof. Dr.Abdel Wahab Ezzat, University's Vice President for community service and environment development affairs, pointed out that this developed unit will serve as a training center for all workers in the field of infection control in North Africa and the Middle East through organizing several training courses.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Helmi Alghar, the director of the hospital, explained that the renewal of this unit came with the participation of Swedish contribute about 3 million L.E. of the total 6 million
Prof. Dr .Hisham Adel, the hospital's vice director for the medical and therapeutic affairs, added that this development is not limited to using the modern devices, but it includes an integrated unit in all forms of sterilization from steam, gas or plasma, emphasizing that this unit is equipped with "barcode" system and trackingto follow all stages of sterilization and applying the international quality standards on it.
