President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed to the development of Ain Shams University Hospitals area and its complete re-planning, within the framework of establishing the Medical City of Ain Shams University, with the provision of the necessary financial allocations for this vital project that will serve thousands of patients, as well as the development of the main axes of the Abbasia area and square to eliminate Traffic densities and ease of movement for university students as well as citizens.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, Major General Mohamed Amin, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Financial Affairs and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University.

The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting dealt with "following up the state's efforts to develop public universities."

The President has directed to provide full support to the public education system to achieve the targeted quality of education, by expanding the national projects for the public university system at the level of the governorates of the Republic.

In this context; The President directed to the development of the Ain Shams University Hospitals area and its complete re-planning, within the framework of establishing the Medical City of Ain Shams University, while providing the necessary financial allocations for this vital project that will serve thousands of patients, as well as developing the main axes of the Abbasid area and square to eliminate traffic densities in it. And facilitate the movement of movement for university students as well as citizens.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed current and future projects in public universities, which number 427 projects at a cost of about 36 billion pounds distributed over 27 governmental universities at the level of the governorates of the Republic, and they are divided into service, treatment and educational projects.

In this context, the Minister of Higher Education presented the executive position to develop the Ain Shams University Hospital Sector area, which will extend over an area of ​​57 acres, and aims to expand and upgrade the service provided to patients, as it will include the development of the Demerdash Pasha Palace, raising the efficiency of current medical facilities, and establishing new hospitals For emergency, pediatric and oncology surgeries, the establishment of modern medical facilities, as well as the development of outpatient and specialized clinics, and the provision of combined waiting areas.

The Minister also presented the plan to establish a number of new public universities at the level of the Republic, including the city of Abu Rudeis in South Sinai Governorate, and the city of Hurghada in the Red Sea Governorate, in addition to the progress of work on a project to establish 16 new private universities affiliated with public universities.
