The sector in brief

The community and environmental affairs sector was established in 1988 and chaired by the vice-president for community service and environmental development.

The sector carries out the university’s role in addressing problems of society and issues of development.

Environmental Affairs Council

The council is chaired by the vice-president for community service and environmental development and comprises vice deans for social and environmental affairs of the faculties and institutes of the university, as well as the administrative officials of the sector headed by the University Assistant Secretary.

The council undertakes devising general policies and plans with the aim of fully attaining the university’s role in serving the community and developing the environment.
