A delegation from the Egyptian Museum in Berlin and the University of Leipzig visited Ain Shams University

Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, received a delegation from the papyrus Center at the Egyptian Museum in Berlin and the University of Leipzig in the framework of cooperation with the University in the area of papyrus and restoration. Prof. Dr. Noha Salem, Director of the Center of Papyrus Studies and inscriptions, and the Center's Consultant, attended the visit.

Where he reviewed the units of a special nature of the University, which are 64 units as well as the efforts of the sector in the service of society and environmental development,

The delegation also visited Al- Zafaran Palace and got acquainted with its history, followed by a visit to the center of papyrus studies and inscriptions in order to begin the restoration of a collection of papyri from the Center's holdings and documenting it scientifically.

It is worth mentioning that a workshop will be held for a week for researchers and specialists from inside and outside the university on the art of restoration and how papyrus is made under the name of papyrus from the plant to the written text, in the framework of joint cooperation between the center of papyrus studies and inscriptions at Ain Shams University and the papyrus center in the museum Egyptian Embassy in Berlin.

The visit of the German delegation comes within the framework of the University's efforts to promote research centers and push them towards international partnerships to raise the world classification of the university, especially in the humanities and social sciences.
